PQMD and Partners Host Disaster Response Simulation at 2018 AIDF Global Summit

EJ Ashbourne (PQMD), Julie Jenson (Pfizer), Kim Keller (Johnson & Johnson), and Rebecca Milner (International Medical Corps) prepare to lead a session on disaster response at the 2018 AIDF Global Summit.

PQMD, along with partners from members International Medical Corps, AbbVie, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer, was honored to yesterday have the opportunity to host a unique disaster response simulation at the 2018 Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF) Global Summit, held in Washington, D.C.

Leading participants through a series of potential response scenarios, attendees were asked to define the relationships between the different actors in an emergency, especially as it relates to private sector support after a disaster, supply chain and product.

Participants discussed the various actors necessary in a disaster response scenario.

The simulation, developed by PQMD member International Medical Corps, brings with it a rare chance for participants and attendees to interact directly with the both NGO and corporate representatives. The event at the 2018 AIDF Global Summit represents the second time this group has workshopped the simulation, which was first presented in 2017 at Georgia Tech.
