JoEllyn Fountain
Community of Practice Content & Webinar Manager
JoEllyn joins PQMD as Content and Webinar Manager for the PQMD CoP. She will also be developing slide presentations, articles, and papers to facilitate the development and sharing of knowledge while also creating partnership resources to connect PQMD members to each other.
JoEllyn brings a varied experience to PQMD – most recently from higher education where she served as an Assistant Professor of Social Sciences and department chair at a Warner Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a MA and PhD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. All degrees are in political science with an emphasis on international relations and comparative political systems. Her academic expertise and her experiences developing and teaching courses in-person and online at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be utilized in webinars and in the CoP.
With her family, JoEllyn lived in Uganda for eight years and she worked at Uganda Christian University doing administration and teaching. She brings that experience and insights she gained there to the work with PQMD. She also spent time living in the UK and in Germany.
Whether JoEllyn has been in the US or overseas, her work has focused on the advancement of people at the margins of society.
Currently, JoEllyn lives near Annapolis, MD with her husband Doug and their red Lab named Barkley. Their only child, Alex, lives and works in Denver, CO.
