Pedro Pina is the Head of the Continuum of Access to Medicines department since Nov 2017 which entails all non-commercial access to Takeda products. He is responsible for the company early/expanded access programs such as compassionate use, post-trial access, named-patient programs and charitable access programs. Part of the charitable program are all the company proactive and reactive product donations to NGOs as well as capacity building projects. Pedro is base in Zurich, Switzerland. He joined Takeda through the acquisition of Shire by Takeda. He previously worked for Baxter, Novo Nordisk and Bristol-Myers Squibb where he held different country, regional and global medical roles. Pedro holds an MD degree as well as an MBA in Internationla Business. He completed his aviation medicine post-graduate training in the UK and worked as a Flight Surgeon for the Swiss Air Force before joining the pharmaceutical industry in 2004.
