Takeda US Philanthropic Giving
Chris Barr leads Takeda U.S. Philanthropic Strategy & Giving program responsible for the design, development and execution of Takeda’s U.S. philanthropic giving program. Under his leadership, Takeda implemented a reimagined philanthropic program focused on supporting organizations in the U.S. to help improve equity among underrepresented communities in the areas of health, education, the environment and access to nutrition/food.
Prior to joining Takeda, Chris spent 17 years in a variety of philanthropic investments and corporate social responsibility roles in the biotech, pharma, and technology industries. Previous roles include leading the Community Investment team for the Electronic Systems sector of BAE Systems, Head of Corporate Responsibility and Social Partnerships at Biogen, and leading community giving at Amgen’s Massachusetts site.
Before his time working in corporate social responsibility, he worked as a strategic consultant for Deloitte, and then PricewaterhouseCoopers focusing on continuous improvement, strategic planning, alignment and goal development.
Chris has received a BSBA from Suffolk University, a MBA from Purdue University and a Masters in Communications and Leadership from Gonzaga University.
