Katie Merkel

Katie Merkel is a Senior Manager on Pfizer’s Global Health Investments team within the Office of the CEO, based in New York. She leads Global Health Fellows (GHF), Pfizer’s skills-based volunteering program, which has deployed more than 1,000 colleagues to support 110+ global health organizations in over 50 countries, strengthening health systems and advancing health equity. She also manages global partnerships for Give Forward, Pfizer’s hands-on volunteering and giving program, engaging colleagues and partners to make a meaningful impact in communities worldwide. In addition, she supports the Global Health Innovation Grants (GHIG) program through The Pfizer Foundation.

Previously, Katie supported Pfizer’s Corporate Affairs organization, providing program and project management for the International Public Affairs team. Since joining Pfizer in 2016, she has volunteered with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) and currently serves as the Marketing Lead for the Peak Performance Affinity Group.

Before joining Pfizer, Katie managed the Pediatric oncology fellowship and residency programs at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.

Katie obtained her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the Pennsylvania State University with minors in International Business and French and holds a MBA with a healthcare concentration from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College.
