Juliemarie Vander Burg

Chief Program and Product Officer
PQMD
Prior experiences include leading a mixed-methods outcomes-level evaluation to assess the quality of donated medical products with both MAP International and MedShare. This approach developed novel metrics of “value” for programs, processes and products from an end-user perspective. Results and recommendations incorporated these measures into existing systems, infusing ongoing improvements through timely, rich and practical data. Juliemarie also has global programs experience gained primarily through Operation Smile, contributing to the delivery of high-quality surgery for children. She served the organization in multiple capacities and on five continents. Her responsibilities included program design and implementation, progress monitoring, volunteer management, policy development, and on-going systematic improvements in areas such as NGO collaboration, inventory control, and medical records. Other notable experiences include documenting historical global health collaboration success and mapping out collaborative practices with the Task Force for Child Survival and Development (currently the Task Force for Global Health) and coordinating Congressionally-mandated expert reports with the National Research Council.
Juliemarie completed her MPH in Global Health at Emory University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland – College Park in International Relations. She treasures her international experiences, which have foundationally shaped her outlook on health programming and success metrics. She is constantly humbled by the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues around the globe and across industries to advance health outcomes. She has lived in France, Morocco, Madagascar, Vietnam and the United States. Juliemarie currently has an office in Coastal Virginia, where she resides with her husband Richard and their young children.
