Theresa McCoy

Theresa McCoy currently serves as an Associate Director of Corporate Responsibility for Merck & Co., Inc. In this role, she advises Merck’s Business Divisions and Support Functions around material issues related to employee productivity and enhancing the workplace culture. Most recently, Theresa assumed responsibility for managing Merck’s Disaster Relief efforts and product donations programs, including the Merck Medical Outreach Program, the award winning Mectizan Donation Program, and the Patient Assistance Program. Her responsibilities also include for developing and implementing Merck’s philanthropic strategy in the community, including Merck’s signature Neighbor of choice program. Until 2016, Theresa led Merck’s signature employee engagement program, the Merck Fellowship for Global Health, which leverages the skills of Merck employees to build the capacity of humanitarian organizations to provide high quality, sustainable health care to the underserved, since its inception in 2012.

Prior to joining Merck & Co., Inc. in 2003, Theresa held various research and evaluation roles at the Education Testing Service (ETS), the New York City Board of Education and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.

Theresa majored in Bio Psychology at Barnard College, Columbia University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also earned a master’s degree at Rutgers University in Educational Psychology.

Theresa is a native New Yorker and a resident of New Jersey. She has been married for 14 years and is the proud mother of three children, Marcus, Elijah and Claire.
