Hurricane Humberto Increases to Category 2; Storm Threatens Bermuda

Hurricane Humberto is currently a Category 2 storm and may threaten Bermuda with heavy rain, strong winds and large swells this week. It is expected to strengthen into Wednesday and is moving east-northeastward away from Southeastern US. A tropical storm warning has been issued for Bermuda with winds forecasted to be 39 mph or greater. The latest forecast shows Humberto moving near or just north of Bermuda on Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

The storm may also bring high surf and rip currents up the East Coast later this week and through the weekend. Humberto will stay south of the Canadian Maritimes.
