Hurricane Dorian Hits the Bahamas as it Continues to Move Slowly Toward U.S.
Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas on Sunday causing damage and devastation. The hurricane has weakened to a Category 3 hurricane and is very slowly moving toward the eastern coast of the United States.
• There have been 5 deaths reported in the Abaco Islands.
• The hurricane continues to hit Grand Bahama Island. The National Hurricane Center is predicting a dangerous storm surge that could be as high as 12-18 feet above normal levels.
• As the storm moves toward the United States, there are mandatory evacuations ordered in both Florida and Georgia.
• Emergencies have been declared in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina
