Tuesday’s weather produced severe storms across the country, including tornadoes in Kansas and Pennsylvania, while other states battle unprecedented flooding. The U.S. has seen nearly two weeks of severe storms, with hail, damaging winds and tornadoes in the Central Plains to mid-Atlantic, according to the National Weather Service. A confirmed tornado struck southwest of Lawrence, Kansas Tuesday night, causing significant damage and injuring 12. The storms and heavy rains have caused flooding in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Flooding is also a concern in parts of Kansas and Missouri.

PQMD member Heart to Heart International, located in Kansas City, responded to the Kansas tornado with medicines, supplies, water, and hygiene kits. Supplies include tetanus vaccines donated by PQMD member Sanofi. Heart to Heart also sent their mobile medical unit, which is supported by fellow PQMD member AbbVie. Additional PQMD members are supporting response in the affected areas.
