Gavi, the vaccine alliance, recently connected with leaders from Silicon Valley to discuss the alliance’s mission. Gavi is working to scale up its mission to protect another 300 million children by 2020. Achieving that goal will require significant investment in new technologies to support logistics, data analysis and digital identity. Gavi’s focus on new technologies is part of an effort to modernize immunization, primary health care systems, and vaccine delivery in growth markets, according to Gavi CEO Seth Berkley. Gavi planned an event this month in Menlo Park, California, the first in a series of events Gavi hopes will identify partners to help them leverage technology to increase immunization access in poor and developing countries.
