Four PQMD Members Ranked Amongst 100 Most Sustainable Corporations Worldwide
Sustainability is a difficult parameter to measure, but an increasingly important aspect of conducting business in a connected global economy threatened by a changing climate and increasing worldwide scarcities. Enterprises play a critical role in how society at large reacts and responds to problems of great magnitude. Part of PQMD’s mission is focused on demonstrating corporate responsibility – which in turn fosters improvements in the standards of medical supply and service donation.
A recently published list, the 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, honors leading companies who best exhibit supportable practices through numerous indicators – such as carbon productivity, innovation capacity, and corporate commitments to sustainability. We are happy to announce that four PQMD members were acknowledged in this index of preeminent international corporations. Shire leapt up 10 positions from its place on last year’s rankings, securing its position at 52nd. The other members on the list include Johnson & Johnson at 59th, Takeda at 80th, and Sanofi at 87th.
Corporate Knights Inc. (CK), a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company, maintains this list – and publishes it to promote clean capitalism: “an economic system in which prices incorporate social, economic and ecological benefits and costs, and actors know the full impacts of their actions”.
