Firefighters Make Progress on California Wildfires

California firefighters are making progress on containing the Carr Fire, which has claimed six lives, destroyed 800 homes and burned more than a hundred thousand acres in northern California.

Cal Fire states the fire is 23 percent contained, an improvement from 17 percent the previous day. Resources are being stretched, as firefighters are battling 17 wildfires throughout the state. Four firefighters have lost their lives fighting the fires.

PQMD members Direct Relief and Americares, among others, are responding and continue to monitor the current California wildfires.
