Mount Mayon in the Philippines erupted on January 13, 2018. Ash and lava threatened nearby Legazpi City, prompting over 80,000 evacuations. More than 1,000 people are crammed into each of the 88 evacuation centers in Albay province. The eruption has released dangerous gases and particles that can cause respiratory issues.
