Heart to Heart International
As Program Manager for Heart to Heart International (HHI), Julie Wahl assists with oversight of the organization’s international medical programs. Since joining HHI in February 2018, she has largely focused her time on the development of HHI’s training expertise in maternal and child health. She also works closely with HHI-Haiti to oversee the growth and expansion of the Pétion-Ville Market Women’s Clinic, which opened in early 2018 to provide proximal, low-cost healthcare to over 3,000 women in the marketplace.
Prior to joining HHI, Julie worked as Associate Director of Capacity Building for SeriousFun Children’s Network where she split her time between Connecticut and East and Southern Africa directing the development and sustainability of medical and psychosocial programming for children living with HIV in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Swaziland and Lesotho. Julie is most interested in the establishment of locally sustainable health interventions that combat health disparities for vulnerable populations, and she is particularly passionate about the treatment, care and prevention of HIV and other key communicable diseases in low-resources settings.
Julie holds a B.A. in Biochemistry and is currently earning her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Missouri.
